The place is quite beautiful, Dominica is the least exploited of the caribbean islands and retains much of its natural beauty. The food is also really good, particularly the local produce. I used to hate pineapple in the states, but it tastes so incredibly good over here.
I expected the weather to be unbearable, and when we had a layover in San Juan I thought I was right, but Dominica is actually pretty nice, the temps only get up to around 87 as opposed to the low 90's back home and the mornings and evenings are quite cool. It's the rainy season so the sky is sometimes overcast during the hottest parts of the day as well.
I've got a couple pictures up already (check my scraps as well) and hopefully I'll post some more during my free time here. It's been raining a lot lately leaving us not a whole lot to do.
I've been here for 2 weeks already and have another 2 weeks before I go back to Arkansas to process the data we collected.
